Getting closer to fans and their lives would seem a mixed blessing for Stars, perhaps? After all, Stars did a job many years ago and folks still remember that and show up to meet/greet them. Who among us fans receives praise for work done long ago? I like how Galaxy Quest remained level in tone, not going into shrill parody but remaining basically gentle.
