As Yoda pondered the intricacies of Basic, musing on how the hell a naked lady could be a kriffing plant, the arboretum's light shone softly about him; his very insides warmed and the queer feeling he'd had lately, that his joints were stiffening with his great age (though, at that, he'd never reach the lifespan of a Neti, and indeed, did not wish to), was replaced by a warm, fuzzy sensation: he could not be certain, as he'd not felt this way before, but it would be nice, very nice, indeed, if someone would pick him up for a cuddle.

Two gifts completed, the naked lady bulb in shiny new pot and the stuffed Yoda doll: the bulb, among others, were 'forced' by placing them in a refrigerator for a month and making them think it was winter, then pulling them out and planting them in the 'spring's warmth' in a sunny window. Fooling a plant is easy. Making Yoda was hard.

REC LIST #9 FOR HAPPY VACATION READING:
FFN has had some corkers lately:
Darsant Avat, by Rosabell. An utterly charming picture of Obi-Wan, aged nine, as he grows into his mature character. Lots of plot, a sometimes-befuddled, sometimes-bodacious Qui-Gon, and decently updated. WIP.

Mirror and Image's Simple Steps, just completed today, remakes the Fall of Anakin Skywalker into a thing understandable and most of all, avoidable. Complete.
A Familiar Face, ruth baulding's latest thriller, takes us to my favorite part of the untold saga, the intertrilogy years. Obi-Wan/Ben at forty has grown into his hermit persona, mostly, so when Fett's familiar face menaces his mission, Obi-Wan acts forcefully. Their byplay thus far is riveting. WIP.
Another ruth baulding story, Hitting the Wall, takes us to the Padawan years of Obi-Wan Kenobi as he and Master Qui-Gon butt heads. At adolescence and at middle age, heads can be very hard. Complete.
