i've never smelled an uncooked durian but i went to visit a friend of mine in north carolina once and we went to a local chinese restaurant for dim sum and they had durian turnovers as a special. (the waitress went "we have durian turnovers :D " and my friend and i went "...ok!") so we got some and they were good! a little stringy, kind of like a squash, but lightly flavored and a little sweet. what does durian extract smell like? does it smell like a fresh one?
