Auto Zone sold me a car battery last October and Thursday morning it was dead with one year's warranty still good. After getting a jump, I drove the 1.5 miles to Auto Zone and Clerk scrutinized the receipt, checked the computer and said 'we don't have a replacement and none of our other stores in the vicinity do, either, it's a cheap battery, would you like to buy a DuraLast?' I pointed out 'it lasted far less than a year.' She said, "Okay, bring it in and we'll exchange it for the one I magically found in the back of the store." I said that it was in my car in the parking lot. "Bring it inside the store," she said, like I, you know, can do this, have the tools and expertise plus can carry the heavy thing, which means I'd get the replacement but would need to install it myself.
Still reasonable, I said, "When I bought it, someone from Auto Zone installed it after removing the old one. I need to speak to someone else."
She shrugged and Manager agreed to my demands.
