• Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea TV show, not film
• King Kong (1933), film or book (yes, there was a book in 1932 by Delos W. Lovelace)
• Hal and Roger Hunt in Willard Price's Adventure series of YA books
• Bulldog Drummond
• Robert Muldoon from Jurassic Park, film or book
• Bullshot Crummond (yes, it is a hilarious parody of Bulldog Drummond)
• Laredo western on TV

and a ridiculously explicit desire repeated for a rec (that was splendidly filled in 2022 by fellow Snowflake Rodo with the sublime Korean series Mr. Sunshine that enthralled me for weeks), so here I go again:

The setting and era are important, the fandom is not, so easy, right? Right?

• Setting to be someplace "exotic" to the United States, such as warlord-era China, Queensland, any banana republic, Albania ...
• Era is early 20th century, 1910-1939, or right before World War 2.
• Contains American servicemen in any branch. Could be main characters or minor, OCs okay.
