One Star Wars story, written in 2009, received a review this week that made my day because the reviewer stated that he/she had read the story three times. The person left a definite glow to create the impression that there is some merit to the stories, and now is the time to self-rec per the Day Eight Challenge. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Undertow A WIP and my current heartthrob; the slashy sequel to 2016's Watermelon Snow. The upshot is that Kowalski and Rico established the Kico pairing at the end of Watermelon Snow, and surprise! so have Skipper and Private established Pripper in Undertow. Curing the skipper's fear of needles garners close attention because Private is, as they say, on the case. Or he will be in about Chapter 50, because the fic stands today at 47 chapters of action/adventure. Undertow is rated M and Watermelon Snow is PG.

Of Jane Austen And Penguins Such a joy to attempt British spelling and Austenesque sensibilities --- and also to poke fun at the fandom after two years. Numerous episodes suffered Skipper to get zapped by a ray or doused with Chemical X, undergo a personality change, and be cured eventually. This is a loving parody, rated PG.

No Remedy For Memory, being a lovely lyric from Lana Del Rey's song, Dark Paradise, flashes back to when the Penguins of Madagascar team included Manfredi and Johnson, veteran commandos written to resemble Quirt and Flagg. The challenge was to suggest dark themes of rape, non-consensual drug use, and torture in a PG-rated story on a moderated site. I figured it's easy to write M-rated prose on these themes; I dunno about the result, but the challenge of writing PG broke my head.

Commit an Act of Kindness. In your own space, share what you’ve done, talk about what you’ve done, or simply leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

It's a RL thing on my part to relate, because commenting on journals or fic during the Challenge remains an act of kindness, all right, but from the Dreamwidth denizens to me. It's just a treat to read of small and large contributions to the world of Random Acts Of Kindness; I'm warmed through and through.

My act was to volunteer to drive Spouse to train station in January's darkness so he could see a basketball game with Youngest after work; Youngest works fifty miles away. I'm not up to driving one hundred miles RT, but I can manage the twenty mile RT twice to the downtown train station. Spouse is handicapped and the logistics of getting him places is daunting.

Logistics is daunting when you have someone who needs accommodations. Something something better society that understands disabilities.
