A drabble of Padmé, Eirtaé, Ommané, and all the other é's.
Padmé spiked the ball, driving Ommané to her knees to respond. Ommané lost her balance and plowed face-first into the sand, forcing Eirtaé to lunge to save their side from ignominy. Instead, she sprawled over Ommané, whose breath gusted in a pained exhalation. "We win!" chirped Sabé, as the Handmaidens joined their Queen in unseemly whooping. Ommané pushed at Eirtaé, barely short of rude. Ommané had wanted badly to impress Her Majesty, particularly since Ommané was lowest in seniority and desired more than the others to accompany Amidala to Coruscant.
Z is for Zero-Sum Game
Obi-Wan came to the conclusion that his close post-Padawan relationship with Anakin was a zero-sum game. Subtracting Padmé from the equation, or subtracting himself, left him with nothing to think but how absolutely defeating this would be to everyone. Obi-Wan was not so immodest to consider himself as irreplaceable, but he did consider Anakin to be. The Chosen One needed him, and Obi-Wan would keep on keeping on. Any other way might be detrimental to the Force, if that were possible. The next time he saw Padmé, he gave her a glance and a little shrug. She shrugged back.
