Set a goal.

I made a backyard bower some years ago. Here's a photo of Willow perched on the toprail of the west-facing fence; I'm sitting on the old daybed used for writing, napping and daydreaming. Well, our recent storms smashed it flat! So the goal is to rebuild it for 2023.

You can see the transverse roof supports. They snagged a lot of rain which bowed and eventually broke the structure, so the plan is to hang perpendicular supports from the bower's toprail to sluice the rain downwards. Wish me luck!

Yup, I'm through thinking and am doing. Rain predicted for Sunday, so we'll see how my combination cattery and she-shed holds up.
